| | Continuing problems I continue to have problems with Foldershare that seem to be independent of the new vs old client issue. That is, I have been syncing files in nearly 20 libraries across 10 computers and right now nothing is working anywhere. The problem first surfaced when all of the computers were running version 2.5.10 / Build 6903. I have updated some of the clients to see if that would fix anything. I now have a mixture of old and new clients and none of them are working. The problems seem to be on the server side, not the client side. When I go to the Foldershare website, I see my libraries and my online computers, but the details on each library show "0 files" and "you don't have any computers synchronizing with this library". Any attempt to do almost anything on the website produces this error message: "Sorry, there was an unexpected error. Please try again." I originally signed up as a paid Professional member before the company was acquired by Microsoft. Another user has also indicated similar problems and has also indicated that he/she was a former paid professional member. As an IT professional (CIO), my debugging instincts are telling me to look into the possibility of differences between accounts created before and after the acquisition by Microsoft. with special attention paid to the old Professional account status. |

| | RE: Continuing problems MORE DATA: As one who originally signed up for Foldershare as a paid PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNT with ByteTaxi, before MS acquired the company, I was not subject to limits on the number of libraries or the number of files per library. Apparently this exemption carried over when MS acquired ByteTaxi, as I have routinely been operating with around 15-20 libraries and with the biggest library containing more than 20,000 files. As of now, nothing is working. Could it be that the server upgrade caused me to lose my old exemption to the limits and now the fact that I am over limit has caused everything to quit working? | | RE: Continuing problems I dont think you lost your exemption. I am a user with much, much smaller number of files being shared, and I get the same thing, unexpected error. I do NOT think I am a paying user (someone gave me foldershare over a year ago) but I would be glad to pay for the service now. Were that the cause of the problem, I would guess I would get a message that says, pay now from good ole' MS "rjr8222" wrote: Quote: > MORE DATA: > > As one who originally signed up for Foldershare as a paid PROFESSIONAL > ACCOUNT with ByteTaxi, before MS acquired the company, I was not subject to > limits on the number of libraries or the number of files per library. > > Apparently this exemption carried over when MS acquired ByteTaxi, as I have > routinely been operating with around 15-20 libraries and with the biggest > library containing more than 20,000 files. > > As of now, nothing is working. > > Could it be that the server upgrade caused me to lose my old exemption to > the limits and now the fact that I am over limit has caused everything to > quit working? > > > > > > "rjr8222" wrote: > Quote: > > I continue to have problems with Foldershare that seem to be independent of > > the new vs old client issue. | | RE: Continuing problems This is a known issue and we are currently working on a fix. It does not relate to your PROFESSIONAL status. "rasmar" wrote: Quote: > I dont think you lost your exemption.
