Can't log into Windows Foldershare.

I've tried to sign in with both of my Windows Live ID accounts to the
foldershare site and I can't get past the login screen. Both of my accounts
work on the other service sites like Skydrive and Maps but Foldershare I
can't sign into.

Re: Can't log into Windows Foldershare.

Mike, FolderShare does not support LiveID at this time. Please login with
your FolderShare account.
If you do not have one, you will need to download the FolderShare client and
create a new account using the client.

Thanks,

Re: Can't log into Windows Foldershare.

My Windows Live Experience!!

1. I get an invite from a friend to view a sycronized folder with Folder
Share.
2. I go to the website that the email tells me to access the content.
3. I see the dreaded please sign in with your windows live ID, passport,
hotmail or MSN account. I quite intentionally have NEVER signed up for any
of these services for a very important reason. There were ALWAYS higher
quality services out there that offered more features that are free that is
less intrusive and doesn't pander my information to all of it's sister
companies. But since MS allows me to use alternate email addresses to create
a Live ID now I felt that it wasn't too intrusive so I went ahead and create
an account to give MS another shot.
4. As soon as I sign in I get a message that my friend has sent me a request
to share a folder. So far so good.
5. I click on the accept button and get "This share request has expired!"
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH Very short timeout.
6. I say OK fine I'll just share a folder with my friend. So I create a
folder on the Live site and upload a photo of my friend with his son. I'm
right clicking it and trying every option in the world on the site to share
it I finally give up and google how to create the shared folder which pointed
me to ANOTHER WEBSITE.
7. I go to this website and try my newly created Live ID which as you stated
above DOESN'T WORK.
8. I googled "why doesn't my LiveID get me into the folder share website"
and came accross this article.

Bottom line. A microsoft service sent me an email to sign up here to view
some folder, which "timed out", that I had to create an account for and then
when I want to use the same service from the other side I have to sign up on
a totally different website and install some intrusive software on my
computer.

This is another item on the long list of reasons I avoid Microsoft services.
I have a feel that this post will be removed b/c it's not rah rah rah MS but
please send this to whomever takes customer feedback. It's a fast paced
world and often you only get one chance to make an impression on a consumer.
This one was not good and makes me hesitant to use MS products; I will always
continue look for an alternative. Please pass my Windows Live experience to
the devs or product managers so that they can consider that a few people
probably had a similar experience. Only about 10% of people who had a bad
experience will take the time to tell the provider why I hope that you guys
use this constructively.

Re: Can't log into Windows Foldershare.

Hi Daniel,

Sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds like you were describing an
issue with SkyDrive and not with FolderShare. Here are some general steps
to share you photos with SkyDrive:

1) Sign in to skydrive.live.com with your Live ID
2) Create a Shared Folders
3) Name your folder
4) Add your friends by either selecting them or adding their email address
5) Browse for the photos you want to upload

Once you've finished uploading your files your friends will automatically
receive an email with directions on how to view your photos. If you
selected a Public folders then you will need to send your friends the web
address of the folder (which can be found under Folder Options once you've
clicked on the folder name).

Thanks,
Francisco
