Problem using Firefox as defaukt browser

Yesterday I installed Firefox as my default browser (XP Pro SP2) because IE7
keeps hanging on me. Since then whenever I try to go to the Foldershare
site I get an error message saying that FolderShare cannot open my browser,
and that I need to go to the Foldershare site and log on. However, it then
immediately connects through Firefox and I'm already signed in - so the error
message is irrelevant.
I uninstalled, deleted all the files, and reinstalled FolderShare but the
problem persists.
If I set IE7 back to the default browser the error message goes away.
Is there a problem with Firefox?

Firefox is my default browser and I never get error messages when clicking
that option on the FolderShare system tray icon causes Firefox to log on to
the FolderShare web site.

RE: Problem using Firefox as defaukt browser

Could be an add on, but it sounds a little strangr. You could try resetting
ie back to its default settings and then swapping ff to default.

RE: Problem using Firefox as defaukt browser

If you can still reproduce the problem, could you try the following
experiment and send us the last few lines of your log file?

1. Shutdown FolderShare
2. Start FolderShare
3. Reproduce the problem
4. Send the last few lines from: %AppData%\Local\FolderShare\logs\log.log

Thanks,
Christoph

RE: Problem using Firefox as defaukt browser

Christoph,
I would email you if I could find out how! The problem persists and is
repeatable. Because I cannot find an email address I have pasted the last
few lines of the log file below

: Decrypted data: 23 bytes
11:23:00.031 clientssl.cpp:1244 (DETAIL): decrypted 53 of 53 bytes in buffer
11:23:00.078 serverconn.cpp:7418 (DETAIL): read NTC_PORT_TEST_RESULTS, data
length 18
11:23:00.078 serverconn.cpp:4316 (DETAIL): port 80, inboundStatus: 1,
outboundStatus: 3
11:23:00.078 serverconn.cpp:4316 (DETAIL): port 443, inboundStatus: 1,
outboundStatus: 2
11:23:00.078 serverconn.cpp:4316 (DETAIL): port 6571, inboundStatus: 1,
outboundStatus: 2
11:23:00.078 serverconn.cpp:4316 (DETAIL): port 8000, inboundStatus: 1,
outboundStatus: 2
11:23:00.140 winui.cpp:2225 (DETAIL): got a core message of type 9 from the
chain, depth: 1
11:23:08.000 wincommon.cpp:262 (DETAIL): .html key: 'FirefoxHTML'
11:23:08.671 wincommon.cpp:336 (NORMAL): ShellExecute failed, err 2

Let me know what else I can do to help...

RE: Problem using Firefox as defaukt browser

Thanks Derek. This is sufficient for us to diagnose the problem.

Thanks,
Christoph
