| | How to upgrade to the latest Windows Live FolderShare In case you are upgrading to the latest Windows Live FolderShare from a legacy version, here are the basic recommended steps to follow. 1. If you have version FolderShare 2.5.10 installed, than simply run the Windows Live FolderShare setup – it will upgrade your existing installation while preserving all the settings. Do not manually uninstall the previous version, otherwise you'll loose you library settings. 2. If you have an older version (< 2.5.10) then: a) Launch your currently installed FolderShare and let is synchronize your files. Wait until no more activity is detected in your Activity Log b) Shutdown FolderShare client c) Uninstall that version manually from Add/Remove Programs d) Install Windows Live FolderShare and manually map your Libraries to local folders Note: In case step 2 c) fails, that is, you are unable to manually uninstall the legacy client because of corrupted Windows Installer entries, then follow the steps below: 1. Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301 2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Installer Clean Up and run the msicuu cleanup application 3. You will see a window with all your installed applications. Select ByteTaxi FolderShare. |

| | RE: How to upgrade to the latest Windows Live FolderShare What if the Windows Installer Cleanup also does not work? I absolutely cannot uninstall 2.5.10 on one of my machines and it no longer transfers files either! Any help is greatly appreciated. | | Re: How to upgrade to the latest Windows Live FolderShare Tony, Thank you so much for the advice - I was able to reinstall the old version and then have installed the new version. Files still aren't transferring for me on this computer, so I'm not sure what that problem is, but at least I don't feel like it's the old version. Thanks again! Carol |

It is looking for the path to FolderShareSetup2.5.10(1).msi I have tried to uninstall it and get the same message. what do I do?
