| | Can you just roll it back? Look guys, this "upgrade" is a colossal failure. And, more importantly, there is no benefit to us. Your improved interface, while replete with lovely gradients and reflective icons, is a step back in productivity. Foldershare has been awesome over the years. One the few apps that just worked the way you wanted it to. Completely unobtrusive and robust. You even had us paying for it, and we were glad to. Then you started messing it up. You changed the UI with version 1.5. You stopped optimizing file transfers by sending just the deltas. You reduced the per-library limits to a fraction of their original levels. And you made it free, so we couldn't complain. And this year, you upgrade the system and break it. It doesn't work reliably, and doesn't even work at all on a Mac (no, i won't turn off encryption - who in their right mind would do that?!). What used to be a good enough solution that it was suitable for complete non-techies is now unusable. I wish that you could just roll the whole damn thing back to where it was before MSFT bought your team. Of course, it can't happen that way. It would be too easy. So now I must seek another solution. Goodbye. |

| | Re: Can you just roll it back? > Check out sugarsync.com This looks QUITE impressive...FolderShare has a serious competitor on it's hands. This is very technologically impressive, and the people behind SharpCast have been at stuff like this for quite some time. Quote: > You may find what you are asking for. Costs a lot more. for most people, but when you get above that, price starts to become more of a factor. $5/month gets you 30 GB/year...not bad, but perhaps not enough for many people. I have 32 GB of photos alone, so I'd probably need the 60 GB version, which is $10/month. Jason Dunn www.digitalhomethoughts.com |

Your improved interface, while replete with lovely > gradients and reflective icons, is a step back in productivity. this upgrade is working wonderfully. I've experienced much better uptime than with the previous client (though I imagine this is mostly due to server-side reasons). I'm happy to finally have a true made-for-Vista version of FolderShare. So I'm happy. I do hope that the FolderShare team fixes the issues that have been raised in this forum and elsewhere - it seems very obvious there are some significant problems.
