I dont know how Foldershare works exactly, but since it updates the file counts on the FolderShare website, SOME data is flowing back to the website no matter whether you're exclusively on a lan or not. But the file transfers should happen intra-lan |

| | Re: Data flow - PC's on LAN Hello, I had the same question and I tried it out on my laptop and office pc, connected through the same LAN to the internet. It seems that the data is going out to the internet and coming back to my 2nd computer. I can monitor the network usage from task manager and the data is getting transferred at the speed of my DSL connection rather than the speed of the LAN (1Mbps) rather than 100Mbps. Is there a setting or something else that can change this behaviour? I could not find anything on the FAQ or the help pages. Now that MS has made changes, I noticed that sometimes that works and sometimes it doesnt. |
