Unable to upgrade FolderShare

For the past 6 months or so I have been able to
sycronize my desktop running XP-Pro with my
Laptop running Vista. This moring it stops working
and I was told I had to upgrade. However when the
upgrade begins to install a window opens advising
"FolderShare is not supported on this version of
Windows"
What does that mean??? Is XP-Pro not supported
anymore?? Why is it that my Opera updates seamlessly
regularly but MS as usual makes everything as difficult
and timel consuming as possible.

RE: Unable to upgrade FolderShare

Hi,

new FolderShare(beta) requires Windows XP SP2 or later, Win2K3 SP2 or later,
or Windows Vista.

Please install Windows SP2 first, then install FolderShare again.

How to install SP2(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389):
1. Visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
2. Click Express Install (Recommended).
3. If your computer qualifies, Windows XP SP2 will be one of the updates
automatically selected. Click Install.
4. Review and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).
Windows XP SP2 will be downloaded to your computer, and the Windows XP
Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard will help you install it.

Thanks you.

RE: Unable to upgrade FolderShare

Thank you for your explanation .... why could that not have been given when
the installation failed? However for me it was a blessing in disguise because
I am now using SecondCopy via my Wifi instead which works very much better.
Unlike FolderShare it does not constantly add files of it's own and you can
choose to change just one file in a folder and it synchronizes perfectly both
ways which FolderShare never could. It's also much faster and you have more
choices and best of all I am rid of another mediocre and frustrating MS
product which wastes so much of your time.
