The pre-Windows Live version of FolderShare worked wonderfully for over 1
year. Now with the Windows Live version I cannot connect to FolderShare. Nothing else has changed other than I installed the new versions. FolderShare doesn't provide any insight on why this issue is occuring. And I can't go back to the old version because FolderShare says it is too old to connect now. On the "Please enter your account info" screen, I enter my email and password and then click "Next". It says "Looking for your account" and "Connecting to server, timout in 30 seconds". After 30 seconds it says "FolderShare could not connect to the server." I've disabled my firewall but still no luck. This is a frustrating user experience with Windows Live after much success with FolderShare. Not a great way for me to get introduced to Windows Live. |

Thank you for your post.
Have you visited Windows Live Help on FolderShare? You can get there by click "Help Central" on www.foldershare.com. There are several FAQs, and one of them is about "Windows Live FolderShare beta client can't connect to the server". I think it would help you solve your problem. Thank you. "RamblinRedhead" wrote:

Hello,
i use Foldershare a long time. On my router i set all 4 Ports. But since the newest Update to 14.0.1331.0415 I can't connect. Then I try all i can do... - I switched off my Software-Firewall - I switched on the UPnP-Service on my router - I reinstall the newest Version (befor: I deinstall Foldershare, remove all entries per regedit from the registry, remove all the personal folders with the ini files...) Now i cant get to the options, because I had to sign in first. but after 30 seconds i cant connect to the server and musst close the programm or go out. Sorry for my terrible english, Cya Crazy X (germany) |

I am having the same issue. It is in Windows XP Pro SP2. The ports are
open, I do not have a proxy server, and I'm not sure about the UPnP becuase this is at work. When I test the connection, it shades the box and never comes up with anything. The client is stuck in "connecting" status. Also, my friend on a different computer at the same work upgraded today and now cannot connect either. Any help soon would be greatly appreciated! I don't know if this helps or not, but there is also no ports listed in the
Port Status dialog box under settings. "Tubacap" wrote:
