| | Why stick with Foldershare? I've been using Foldershare for the past year or so, and have found it fantastic; it has done everything I've needed and made my working much more efficient. I've just, however, received a better for Live Mesh, for which there seems to be great potential. I'm wondering what reason there is, if any, for me to stick with Foldershare. I don't mean this to be negative - as I say, Foldershare has worked very well for me (the only additional feature I want is synchronization with my Home Server, which neither Foldershare nor Live Mesh provide right now). I'm just wondering if there is any way in which Foldershare's synch is better than Live Mesh's - if there is anything I get from Foldershare which I wouldn't get from Live Mesh. |

| | RE: Why stick with Foldershare? I think you need to try it out and see for yourself. I am currently playing with Foldershare, Mesh and Groove (all on the same machines) and each has it's own high (and low) points. Right now, for just keeping folders (and thus data) in sync between various machines, Foldershare is simple, lightweight and just works. Groove is just too heavy (as I don't need all the sharepoint stuff). Mesh looks promising especially as it allow you to store data "in the cloud" as well as across multiple machines however I can see the 5GB limits getting used up very quickly. But Foldershare and Mesh are free to try so try for yourself and post back your thoughts. |
