| | New/changed file detection in linked directories I created a private library to backup my personal documents. Since the files are in multiple directories, and mixed in with other directories that I do not wish to back-up, I created a backup directory and linked the various directories in under backup using linkd. I then created the library with backup as the root. When I added the library to another computer, the initial sync picked up all the files. No problem. When I added a few files to one of the linked directories, FolderShare did not pick them up and sync them. It has shown no signs of recognizing that the new files are there. I thought that perhaps FS was watching system events, and looking for activity in specifically named directories. If I saved or changed the file in the original directory (different path than the linked directory) it wouldn't trip FS's detection. I'm not sure this is the case, though, because I tried moving one of the new files out of the library directory, and then moving it back in, making sure to move it to the backup path, and not the original path for the linked directory. No FS detection, no sync. So, what's the deal? Is it the links, or am I dealing with something else? I just realized that I have a large number of files, and may need to split this library, BUT it is currently under the 10,000 file limit (9599 files). Thanks, --Mike |
