| | Invitation to share a library doesn't appear I was invited to share a library by a foldershare user. I have installed FS and I know that it works because I can work with several of my own computers; I can connect to my office computer and a friend of mine can get his FS files when he uses my computer. My problem is that the library I was invited to share does not show up anywhere. When I log on to FS (using the credentials I was sent for the library in question), am I supposed to see the library I've been invited to somewhere? If so, where would that be? Do I need to send an invitation to the person who invited me, or does his computer know I'm online when I log in? None of this is explained in any detail whatsoever in the FS help pages. Thank you. |

| | RE: Invitation to share a library doesn't appear You have to add one of your computers to the library. Once you do this, you will be asked where to store the files on your computer and once you are done, the files will start getting downloaded to your machine (assuming the shared files are on machines that are online with FolderShare). | | RE: Invitation to share a library doesn't appear I did everything you said, Steve. A friend in Australia (I'm in New York) set up a folder for me, and as soon as I logged in this morning (before the FS upgrade), it appeared right away. I am assuming that there was something wrong with the first invitation. Is it possible to have the person send me a second invitation, or is a different e-mail address required? Thank you. Kathryn T. | | Re: Invitation to share a library doesn't appear Hi Kathryn, It might be a good idea to have the person who sent the original invitation remove you from the library and then add you back. That should send another invitation email, and the library should appear on your home page when you sign in to www.foldershare.com (there will be an icon for it under "Shared libraries"). You shouldn't have to use a different email address -- but it's definitely a good idea to make sure your friend is using the correct email address when adding you to the library. Let us know how it goes! Thanks, Sarah [MSFT] -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | | Re: Invitation to share a library doesn't appear Dear Sarah: If the original person uninvites me and then invites me back, do the credentials originally sent get wiped out? I am sharing files with another person (and it is working successfully) using the original credentials I was sent. I don't want to lose the connection to the second person if I get bounced off the first invitation. This is very confusing! | | Re: Invitation to share a library doesn't appear Hi Kathryn, If you're re-invited to the library, there shouldn't be any problem with your existing FolderShare credentials. The person who owns the library can remove you and add you back to the library using these steps: 1) Click on the icon for the library from the owner's FolderShare homepage 2) On the library description page, click on "Invite members and set permissions" 3) Uncheck the checkbox by your email address 4) Click "Next" 5) On the library description page, click on "Invite members" again 6) Enter in your email address into the blue box 7) Click "Add", then "Next" 8) Click "Send" Make sure the owner of the library is using the email address that you used to sign up for FolderShare. If all goes well, you should see the library appear on *your* FolderShare homepage. Does that help at all?
