Why not www.mesh.com?

Microsoft is killing it's own baby with www.mesh.com
While it's still in technical beta, mesh does have limit of 10,000 files
(100,000 at the moment), works very well (no outages so far), allows you to
connect to your remote machines interactively (!!!!), allows offline access
to your files (first 5GB) and have very active Micrsoft employees involvement
of all operations of the website and client. You are notifed when new version
is coming, what is fixed, what is being worked on etc.
So wondering what FolderShare team think about future of FolderShare and how
this will play along with LiveMesh which at this point.

RE: Why not www.mesh.com?

The status of mesh is full. If you apply, your status woud be pending, right?
Not sure how soon it will get approved.

Re: Why not www.mesh.com?

I applied when it first went out like twenty years ago and I am still not
on.

Re: Why not www.mesh.com?

I applied and got approved in a week.
But it's way too clumsy compared with FS.
The only two advantages of mesh I noted are:
1. has online backup, synch doesn't require one machine on
2. support unicode file name (FS supports adding files with unicode name,
but can not synch modified files with unicode names. I really don't
understand why this small bug takes FS team so much time to work on!)

RE: Why not www.mesh.com?

I did some tests on my FS:

1) Adding a unicode file can be detected by FS and sent to remote machines,
but no message indicates the sending

2) Changing a unicode file can not be detected by FS. If you close FS and
restart it, the changes you previously made will be detected and synchronized
correctly.

Hope FS team will fix this bug very soon.
