New FolderShare client for Windows available

Hi, FolderShare friends.

There's a new version of FolderShare for Windows available
(https://foldershare.com/clientdownload.aspx) today that includes several
updates designed to improve reliability. We encourage all the awesome
FolderShare users to install it at their earliest convenience.

These feature improvements work only on the new version, so the old version
needs to be removed before the new one is installed. We understand this
process may cause some inconvenience, but be assured that your settings and
files will remain the same from start to finish.

If you have any thoughts about the new improvements, please let us know by
posting a comment.

Thanks for using FolderShare!

RE: New FolderShare client for Windows available

Does this newest release work with the mac Version? Also, is there going to
be any updates for the mac Version?

Thanks.

Each new version seems to remove yet more features. Previously we lost the
ability to see which other devices were online and sharing libraries and
with this version we lose the ability to control the number of transfers up
and down. I regret the loss of these useful and indeed used facilities.

ARe there new features or just better reliability? If there are new
features, what are they? Just looks like the same old thing to me.

Re: New FolderShare client for Windows available

Hi,

The new client is specifically for Windows. Though we can't provide a
timeline, we are currently working on updating the Mac client. We
definitely understand the importance of synching your files cross platforms
so we will support the Mac client and continue development on it.

Best,
Francisco

Re: New FolderShare client for Windows available

Seems that we lose the setting for location of Foldershare Trash this time.

What are they doing? Killing FS?
So disappointed!

RE: New FolderShare client for Windows available

I find that FolderShare is difficult to know if it's actually working. There
is no User Interface showing that it is actually working. The interface is
confusing and needs to make some User Interface inorovements.

I really need this product since I travel with a laptop when I'm away from
my main desktop PC in my office.

Is it true that the new version removed the graphic feature that show which
PCs are synching?

That would be a step in the wrong direction...
