Can't disable encryption on Windows XP

Why can't I disable encryption on Windows XP?

The only 3 tabs I have are General, Proxy, and Port Status.

This contrasts with the 6 tabs I have on Vista - My Account, General,
Logging, Transfers, Proxy, and Port Status.

I _need_ to disable encryption on my XP machine to sync with a Mac (which
is, in itself, a stupid problem). How, exactly, am I meant to do this?

Is there a registry setting I can tweak?

The difference is that on your XP machine you are running the "upgraded"
version 14.0.1383.0530 but on your Vista machine you are still running the
older but more configurable version 14.0.1331.0415.

Re: Can't disable encryption on Windows XP

I have the same problem. My server runs FS 14.0.1383.0530 and must be
disable encryption, so that can transfer the data. How can I do?

Just a wild guess: Take a look into the registry. (I can't look myself,
I'm using MacOS)

Re: Can't disable encryption on Windows XP

No, it's not in the registry.

Look in \Documents and Settings\XXX\Local Settings\Application
Data\FolderShare\settings ("XXX" is your Windows userid)

In there is a file called something like 999999.ini ("999999" is
presumably your FolderShare user number). Edit that file with Notepad
and change this setting:

encryptTransfers = false

Re: Can't disable encryption on Windows XP

I have found it. Thank you. But another question is: Why MS don't enable GUI
Setting? why my computer can't transfer the data by encryption?
