| | Problems connecting to foldershare? About 2 weeks ago, my PC stopped connecting to foldershare. I uninstalled, and installed the new version, but it still will not connect. No network settings have changed, and the Mac client still connects fine. FWIW, I know my username and password are correct (since I can log into foldershare.com just fine -- even though the certificate is invalid!) Am I the only one having this problem? Any suggestions? |

| | Re: Problems connecting to foldershare? I had the same problem. I've sent my foldershare logs to the Foldershare team about 2-3 weeks ago with the same detail you'd use in a bug report, and I included detailed screen shots. I've yet to hear back from them. I thought it might have had to do with the update they made available in late June--about the 26th or so which afik is the latest update because I had no problem prior to then. However, shortly after I sent them the log three weeks ago the situation changed and I could again sign into foldershare. But with one difference. Before, I was able to open some folders on my Itouch using Foldershare logging in on the notebook or desktop and logging in on the little guy made by Apple. I could also use it like a Sony E-reader or a Kindle by opening up ebooks that I had on my computers that were in .pdf or html formats. I can't do this any longer and I don't know why. I think the June update had something to do with this. I believe I posted this on the group and don't remember getting a response about a month ago. I used FS to do the above, because Mesh has dragged its feet in making Mobile Mesh work for an Iphone or Itouch or some other mobile devices. They have said they would do it for months, but in fact the Mobile Mesh site that MSFT put up works incompletely, and I could only share a few pics and docs with the Itouch using Mobile Mesh. An announcement was posted by http://www.liveside.net/ which afik isn't a MSFT sponsered site (but it could be--does anyone know?) and then it said that the mobile mesh site was not working and retracted its announcement. It also said that I could not syncronize files stored on an external HD with a mobile device, which is simply untrue because I have done it both with Foldershare and with Mesh. I guess I need to sign in to the site and comment. | | RE: Problems connecting to foldershare? i would suggest opening the ports in your router and your client side firewall, these can be found inside of FolderShare>Activity>Ports. | | RE: Problems connecting to foldershare? Did these ports change? Like I said, it was connecting fine before 2 weeks ago, I've made no changes to my router/firewall. In addition, the Mac client (also behind the router) is working fine.
