| | Removing setting options in latest version of the client. Was there any particular reason that many of the settings options were removed from the client such as # of simultaneous uploads? When I set it 1 it actually helped not to send the same file to 3 non-local computers that were local to each other but now I'm back to the same situation again. So whenever I update data, it naively sends the same data (tripling the bandwidth requirement in this case) to 3 non-local computers to me but are local to each other. I really wish we could at least have that option back or to make the sending heuristic worked on. |

Let's hope that someone puts them back into the next release. If you are confident with a text editor and careful (keep backups etc) then you can still manipulate these in the newest version of FolderShare. In XP the settings are in the file serialno.ini (where serial number is a six digit number - well was for me) and the file is located in folder: \Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Date\Foldershare\settings and where username is the Windows user name for which FS was installed. If you prefer GUI then I reckon you might temporarily reinstall the older version and fix some settings you can live with, then revert to the newer version for operation. Tony |

| | Re: Removing setting options in latest version of the client. Thanks a lot, Tony for the response. That does help out. I actually upgraded to help remedy a previous bug so reverting back isn't much of an option. Fortunately, I am a programmer so modifying the INI file shouldn't be an issue. My worry is that the GUI change is just a hint at them removing the functionality altogether. Thanks again for the help. Cary "Anthony R.
