Let's say I have a Foldershare account: Username: A Email address: a@xxxxxx I'd like to change my username to "B" but still keep email address a@xxxxxx, and also keep using the same computer. (or not :-) Since there appears to be no official function to support changing nicknames, you might try this - First, since this is experimental, you might want to try it using a test machine, rather than your real machine. So, create a Foldershare account on a test machine, for example, userid "A" email: a@xxxxxx Now, sign on to this "A" account and change the email address to some other email you won't be using. Disinvite anyone you invited to any libraries on your "A" account. Now uninstall Foldershare. Then, set up a new account by either re-installing Foldershare on the same machine, or have someone invite you to share a folder, and use the link they provide to install FS on your test machine. _Either way, ensure you set the new FS account up with your "a@xxxxxx" email. Using either setup method, make sure when you first install your new Foldershare a@xxxxxx account, to give it your new nickname, "B" I've never tried this, have no idea if it will work, nor do I know how FS keeps its account information around, so if I were you, I'd give it a day or more between your changing of the old account's email to whatever@xxxxxx just in case they keep the link between userid "A" and "a@xxxxxx" hanging around for a bit. Perhaps someone from the Foldershare team might care to save a lot of work and comment on this plan before it's tried out, or suggest an easier way? |
