| | Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" For several days now the foldershare icon is stuck on "Connecting". When I go to the main Foldershare website it says my machines are not connected to foldershare. This happened to both my machines (running XP: SP3). I'm not sure when it first occurred, I just noticed it a few days ago. A third (our of state) machine I have set up on my account for archival purposes connects just fine. Any help would be appreciated! |

| | Re: Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" I'm getting the same issue. Both computers just say "logging in", so it appears that the FolderShare server is down. The port status of both computers is fine. "Jeremy Epling [MSFT]" wrote: Quote: > Are your computers behind a proxy? | | RE: Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" I just began to have the same problem in the past couple of days. Folder share icon stuck on "Foldershare Satelling Connecting". It will eventually timeout and give message regarding Proxy server. We do not use a proxy server. Had been working fine for months. I can login from machine with same username by going to www.foldershare.com, so know that username and password are correct. Downloaded lastest beta and installed. Since it connect connect during initial setup, app will not load at all so cannot even run port test. Please advise. | | RE: Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" Same thing with me - I uninstalled and reinstalled on my Vista, as it stopped working as well, and now I can't even log into Foldershare app. Logging in online with the same user and pw works, as with you. This is definitly a Foldershare issue and not specific to my config (which has not changed in months). "Andy Levy" wrote: Quote: > I just began to have the same problem in the past couple of days. | | RE: Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" Found this post on this forum: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...a-e4b4c98e4b05 Apparently the service is down for maintenance, and has been for the past 24+ hours. I know it's a beta, so one should not expect it to perform as a production system, but taking it down with no notice for such a longer period of time and keeping it down longer than longer than stated with no further communication is not impressive. We'll look for a more stable alternative. | | RE: Foldershare satellite stuck on "connecting" I'm glad you posted this. I've spent the weekend trying to figure out what's going on with my system. Have a work laptop at home running FolderShare fine on XP. Had to rebuild my home machine. Has XP also. Went to reinstall FolderShare but no luck. Couldn't connect. Why does one get on and the other not? No Proxy set up or anything. I can get to the online account as well. Thought it was a Norton problem. Their support uninstalled and the we tried again. No luck. Reinstalled theirs and kept searching until I found this thread. Until I can get this figured out, I started looking at other products. Anyone have experience with SugarSync? I'm trying an eval now. Not thrilled about paying for this capability and being limited to 10GB.
