Hi

tried all weekend to get Live mesh to take control of a remote pc across the
internet. The remote PC was added as a device but could not connect. Just
basically sat there trying and finally received an error saying it couldn't
connect. I gave up and used Logmein which is also free and worked first
time. I know its beta Live Mesh but does that facility actually work?

Yes, remote works fine, except via an authenticated proxy server.
