Vista - Windows Live Sync - Sign In Issue

Hi Folks,

We've found an issue that is causing sign-in to take longer than expected
and in some cases the sign-in process times out. We're actively working on
this issue and are sorry for the inconvenience. We will update this thread
when we have resolved the issue. Please let us know if you have any other

Just posting to say that of four machines, one of them eventually connected
and it seemed to function. The other three, 1 Vista x64 and 2 XP32, failed
to sign in the initial setup step where I enter my Live ID credentials.
After attempting to connect, it eventually fails with an error message. I
then have no choice but to cancel the setup. I know I'm entering the
password correctly. I can only presume some server is overloaded at the
moment?

A server overload? - after forcing the entire userbase to rebuild everything
from scratch - who could have predicted that?

Come on Microsoft, join the rest of us in the real world! This is not how
to do things.
