| | Windows Live Sync for Mac Windows Live Sync for Mac does not work. I installed on two different machines and got an error when I tried to siogn in "this version of windows live sync is too old. Please download a newer version". I am running Leopard, the most current Mac operating system. This does not make sense. |

| | Re: Windows Live Sync for Mac Hi John, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Can you confirm that you've downloaded the most recent mac client (version 14.0.6066.1211) from https://sync.live.com/clientdownload.aspx ? Do you get any error message from the Mac OS when you try to open the file? There are two steps to opening the file: unzipping "WindowsLiveSyncSetup.mkpg.zip" and then launching the installer file ("WindowsLiveSyncSetup.mkpg"). Which step is failing? Thanks. | MAC OSX v. 10.5.5 | Re: Windows Live Sync for Mac Rachel, The problem is not in downloading the installer. That seems to work fine. Just to make sure I had the latest version, I did it again after I got your message. And the installer file seems to work fine. In fact, I get the message that "The application was installed successfully." The problem occurs when I try to open the application. I double click and nothing happens. I have tried rebooting my computer, but no luck opening the app then either. No error message either. Now, this may be a dumb question, but do I need to have Vista installed on my computer? John |

| Leopard 10.5.6 | Re: Windows Live Sync for Mac I've downloaded the most recent version. I can unzip the mpkg, but when I run the installer (WindowsLiveSyncSetup.mpkg), I get this error: Operation could not be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.) Couldn't open "WindowsLiveSyncSetup.mpkg". Help!! Alan |

| Leopard 10.5.6 | Re: Windows Live Sync for Mac I got past the initial problem, but ran into another show stopper. To overcome the problem I described above where the installer wouldn't even get started, I had to "Show Package Contents" on the mpkg file. Curiously, there's another mpkg file embedded in that. When I opened the embedded mpkg file, the installer would run. But alas, when I tried to sign it, it says that the version I'm using is too old. ARG. I'll try downloading again, but I just downloaded! Alan |

| OSX 10.5.5 | Re: Windows Live Sync for Mac I had been looking forward to trying live sync. I set it up on a mac and a PC. On the mac, I installed from the mpkg.zip file and then the installer. Like John20, I cannot get this to work at all now. When I go to open Live Sync I double click and nothing happens. When I try to uninstall or delete the program, I get a message that says "The item "Windows Live Sync" cannot be moved to the trash because it is open. If I try to force quit, the program doesn't appear as open. It also doesn't appear in the menu bar at all. I tried to reinstall over it, but that doesn't seem to work and I have tried restarting a few times. Any thoughts? Thanks, Begodo |
