| | Disappearing computers Hi Managed to get it up and running on 4 computers all running xp all with seperate windows live accounts. But now some of the other computers are disappearing completely, forcing me to send new emails, and then they have to go through the whole sign up process again any ideas what is causing this ? I used to have a fine head of hair, but as I am forced pull it out its not looking too healthy ;-) |

| | RE: Disappearing computers Sorry, this is not really a reply. I just can't get the new question function to work and I wanted to say that I am having the same problems as everyone else. The old foldershare worked fine. I used it for years. I have now installed over and over again this Windows Live version on my desktop, and it never shows up--either on the desktop toolbar or as a synced computer on my laptops. The laptops are not syncing with each other either. I am running Vista on the desktop and one laptop, and XL on the other laptop. The whole system is not working obviously. But what do we do? I am really dependent on foldershare now. Is there some site that tells you clearly how to fix this so it works? | | Re: Disappearing computers Hi Marsha, After you install Sync you need to launch the program and log in. To do this, go to Start Menu -> All Programs -> Windows Live -> Windows Live Sync. Once you've launched Sync and logged in on all your machines, it will start syncing your old FolderShare libraries. Sorry for the confusion. | | Re: Disappearing computers Hi Mike, I'm not sure what's causing your issue - what do you mean by "the computers are disappearing"? Are they showing up on the synchronized folder pages on sync.live.com and then later not showing up? It sounds like you're using the invite feature, which is really meant for sharing folders with other people. If you're just sharing data across computers you own, try using the same Live ID to sign into Sync on all your computers - that should make your life easier. | | Re: Disappearing computers Hi Rachel Thanks for the reply, "I'm not sure what's causing your issue - what do you mean by "the computers are disappearing"? Are they showing up on the synchronized folder pages on sync.live.com and then later not showing up?" Thats exactly what happened, (and it is 4 seperate users.) For some reason two of them disappeared a little earlier. However I resent them invitations and they are connected again just fine. I'll put it down to gremlins..or monday morning blues It really is a pretty wonderful piece of software "Rachel Popkin [MSFT]" wrote: Quote: > Hi Mike, > > I'm not sure what's causing your issue - what do you mean by "the computers > are disappearing"?
