Weird problem: files being resync'ed over and over

I upgraded to Livesync and restablished the directory share b/w my PC and
Mac. However, both of them got to the point where they were each sending the
other the same file over and over again. They would get to 100% and resend
it from the beginning. Each computer was close to resyncing' the entire
fileset.

I decided to go to the PC and remove the PC share from Livesync, and to
start from scratch from the PC side. Upon adding the new share, it gave me an
error saying something along the lines of that there were too many characters
in file OpenFolderListDF. I'm not sure what that meant but I just clicked ok
and it's sync'ing from scratch now.. not sure if it will complete
successfully.

Anybody know what's going on?

Thanks!

Sorry, I meant to say that each computer was sending the other a file over
and over again, but these two files were different from each other.

RE: Weird problem: files being resync'ed over and over

If your Mac is PowerPC Mac, then this is a known issue. We're actively
working on a fix and will let you know when it's ready.

It only happens with specific media files, such as .avi, mp3, etc.
unfortunately there aren't any workarounds.

Thank you.

RE: Weird problem: files being resync'ed over and over

Hi, loppy

we have updated Mac build and it's available at
https://sync.live.com/clientdownload.aspx now.
Can you install the latest build and give it a try?
You should be able to sync all type of files b/w PC and Mac.

Thanks!

RE: Weird problem: files being resync'ed over and over

I forgot to thank you guys for fixing this problem. Works great now!
I still have 1 file that doesn't get sync'ed to the PC, but I have no idea
which one as it never attempts to sync that last file, both my macs are in
sync though
