When the IM clients started doing this, I found it disconcerting; I've come to expect the "X-close" button to *CLOSE* the application. Other applications I have (LapLink Gold, uTorrent) will "minimize" to the System Notification Tray. Even Opera will disappear from the Toolbar when the "Hide Opera" button is checked; leaving an icon in the System Notification Tray. "X-close" means...***CLOSE***!!! -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| | Windows Live Mail updated today by Microsoft? I read in the papers this past Sunday that Microsoft was planning to release an update today Tuesday, and that it was going to include a new Windows Live Mail (I think that is what I understood in the article). That was going to be the second Tuesday of the month, which is today, and which is the day of the month when Microsoft releases the monthly updates. Today (this morning) I got my automatic updates, and I get them "successfully", Windows Vista tells me. However, now when I look at my Windows. Live.Mail beta version, I note that it says that it is version 2008 , which is the same version that I hade before. I checked my version a few days ago, hoping to see if a new version was installed today Tuesday. So it appears that I did not get today any Live.Mail update and that I still have the Beta version. Questions: 1. Did Microsoft released anything on Live.Mail today, or it is planning to release anything soon? 2. Is my version Build 12.0.1365 the latest one? Thanks in advance. |

You won't get it through Windows Update, but, supposedly, once you do install this version, subsequent updates will come through Windows Update. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail updated today by Microsoft? Michael also answered my question. (I put it by mistake to this thread, as you see). Let me ask you, Norman, it seems that I will have to go to the Microsoft site and seek the new version and install it? (Then that one is not "automatic") Do I have to uninstall the old Beta version before I install the new one? "N. If it is working okay, it should be okay to install over it. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
