Vista - VIEW does not show me MY answers to questions posted

I have selected VIEW only responses to my questions, but it always (or most
of the time) gives ALL REPLIES. That is then checked off on the top, even
though at the bottom it says to give only answers to my questions.

I never had that with Outlook Express, only with WLM.

I find that very annoying.

Have any of you reading this also experienced this or know why this
happens?

My WLM never offers to show "answers to my questions". But I can set it to
View | Current View | Show Replies to My Messages. And it does that
properly, just like in OE.

But, as we've discussed in several threads here, WLM doesn't quit there.
After showing all the previous replies in "my" threads, it then continues
and downloads ALL NEW messages - including those in all threads. And, since
I usually have the Message List set to display the newest messages first,
these new messages get sorted ABOVE "my" threads. And any replies to older
threads - including "my" threads - get added to those older threads,
probably below the last one in the visible part of the Message List.

It's interesting - and depressing - that this happens ONLY here in the
Microsoft public newsgroups, also known as Microsoft Communities. Usenet
newsgroups, which I receive through my ISP's new server, are handled
properly. And so are newsgroups on a couple of Microsoft's private servers.

We keep hoping the WLM Team will fix this glaringly obvious bug - which has
survived through all the beta builds and into the final WLM 2008. :>(

Thanks for the detailed reply.
I was probably not quite accurate when I said "answers to my questions".
It is like you said "show replies to my messages".

I now see that the WLM does have a BUG in that it does what you and I
experience.

When are MS people reading these NG's to fix what consumers find wrong or
lacking?

Strange that they do not have a few of their employees tasked with this from
which they could learn what customers find irritating.

Well, I guess they are busy with important stuff. ;^}

A few of the WLM Team members do stop by and their help is greatly
appreciated. I just wish they would do MUCH more of it. It seems they
appear frequently for a week or two, then disappear for a month or two. It
must be a function of how hard they are working behind the scenes during the
ebb and flow of product cycles.

But only a few of them "eat their own dog food", as Softies are fond of
saying. Often, when they post here, they are using the web-based interface
(which Microsoft prefers, although most of us who help regularly can't stand
it), or Tomcat (which MS uses internally), or some other newsreader, rather
than their own OE/WM/WLM.

They do keep an eye on this NG - but they don't respond as often or as
quickly as I would like.
