    No Errors??

I recently had to do a clean reinstall of Windows Vista due to so many errors
with the upgrade. Now my Windows Mail is not working properly. When I start
Windows Mail it downloads all my messages just fine but when it checks for
messages, I get an error. It does this every time it checks for mail. When
I hit the send/receive button, it says it can't download the messages and
tells me to review the list of errors but the errors box is blank. If I
close Windows Mail and then start it again, it works and downloads the
messages that were waiting so I know I have the accounts set up correctly.
What is going on and what do I need to do?

Try un-checking 'Send and receive messages at startup' in the Options General tab. Then do a manual send/receive after WLMail has stabilised after starting.

That works for the first send/receive but then after that I get the same issue.

Try Windows Live Mail instead? <eg>

That figures. Symantec's Norton antivirus is probably the worst offender
when it comes to interfering with email client functions. As a test, you
should uninstall it, then try your Windows Mail again, just to see if it
    makes a difference.
