WLM Junk Mail folder

    WLM Junk Mail folder

Suddenly my junk mail folder doesn't show me the message body, only the
header. This started this morning and is the same for both of my email
accounts. Is this a new "feature"? I hate it. Could I have accidently
changed a setting? My other folders are working just like always.

    Hi, Trustn01.

Just highlight the message and press Enter (or double-click) IF you are sure
    it is safe.

The junk mail folder is different from the other folders. For one thing, it
has no Reading Pane. So the only way to read the message body is to Open
    the message. Even the Ctrl+F3 shortcut to look at its headers doesn't work;
we have to right-click, then click Properties | Details | Message Source.

I'm not sure of all the reasons for this new "feature", but I'm pretty sure
that it is working as the WLM Team intended.

Yes, that is a new 'feature' in build 1606.

For pop accounts, I am fairly sure that I had the feature with build 1184.
I know that I had it with build 1365.

Trustn01, what was your previous build?

It looks like I'm currently using 1606, I can't see in my history what the
previous build was, but I do see a couple of updates for windows mail junk
mail filters (one a month). I downloaded WLM in April, but don't see any
    updates since.

    Hi RC

I have been having the same problem as Trustn01. but with my Inbox.
Will the version I have affect this too?
I checked in help as you suggested and I have version 2008 (%s)
    This seems a bit odd.
    Any ideas?

    Re: WLM Junk Mail folder

The content in this thread is correct.
12.0.1606 is the current and only rtw/production version available.
The Message body for Junk Mail is not shown in 1606
The Junk Mail filters mentioned earlier are not for Windows Live Mail. They are for Vista's Windows Mail(fyi development ceased in
2006 even though junk mail filters are still being deployed)
No updates have been deployed for Windows Live Mail via Windows Updates(the method/engine used to deploy Vista Windows Mail Junk
    Mail Filter updates)

12.0.1606 will be replaced, very soon, with the next publicly available version.

    Re: WLM Junk Mail folder

    Hi Winston

Thanks for your reply but it did not answer my questions.
Apart from no junk filtering I have no messages showing in my Inbox folder
just the message headline and an attachment for the message.

    Can anyone help?

I did wonder about reinstalling WLM but don't know if I would then loose my
    current data.
