Lost emails in quickview inbox, but still in individual inboxes

Hi. All of a sudden, all the emails in the all inbox under quickviews has
disappeared. However, the emails are still in the inboxes of the individual
account. I have tried turning it off and on again, but it remains empty.
Any way to get them back all in that one view? Thanks

Hi Ron, sadly, you have caught the 'broken Quick views' bug, caused by deleting a folder under 'Storage folders'. Thankfully, a fix is available:
To rebuild the Quick Views from scratch, you should delete the registry Value 'SearchFolderVersion' under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\. This will cause WLMail to rebuild its Quick view data store when it is next started.
You will have to refrain from deleting any more storage folders if you don't want to go through it all again. However, it is quite a simple and drama free fix though.

Thanks for the explanation, Peter. I was also having this issue.
I think the so-called "final" version of WLM is buggy as hell.
The beta version worked much better. I hope they come out
with a new version that fixes all bugs.

Thanks Peter I had the same problem and it was fixed with your trick, after
investing a fair amount of time to fix it.
    Thanks loads

thanks Peter for this concise fix! after being completly unable to identify
why this was happening and not finding a fix I started by googling and found
a mirror of your explanation at eggheadcafe.com but missing the sentence:
    "SearchFolderVersion" under the registry key

I always get at least 3 opinions before registry edits and thought I'd
mention this ommision in my thanks. it should also be noted that this dosn't
fix the problem immediatly on restart of WLM, rather after a couple of
minutes while it's rebuilding the cache.

    You're welcome inkblob.

I just went through all my posts regarding the broken quick views fix, and in each one I find I did mention "SearchFolderVersion", so there must be something wrong with that archived version of my post (eggheadcafe.com doesn't like my encoding method), unless you just missed it due to the way I worded it.

Also, Winston [ms-mvp mail] has kindly posted the fix on his blog at: http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!205.entry

    Hi Peter

Just wanted to say thank you also for the solution here. I've had to use it
several times over the past few months. It would be nice if there was an
actual fix for it soon though from Microsoft. Hopefully other people can find
this solution too and know how to access it.

    Thanks again.
