version/patch plans?

After my own troubles trying to use WLM, and from what I've read on
this group over the past month, seems to me 1606 is is need of a patch
sooner rather than later. Anyone know of what the release/update plans
are for WLM? I'm really trying to get it to work given the hotmail
integration (I'm on vista), and I'm willing to tough it out a bit
longer, provided this isn't considered a final release for the
foreseeable future. Unfortunately if it is I'll need to look for a
more reliable solution.

For working with a Windows Live Hotmail account, the only more reliable
solution would be for Windows Live Hotmail to make POP3 and SMTP access
available for the free accounts.

POP3 access for all WLHotmail accounts is suppose to be coming in the
future.

I've had good success with Outlook and Outlook Connector but miss the true
NNTP integration. I use an Outlook add-in "Newshound" for NNTP but still
prefer reading news in WM, WLM or Tbird.

I prefer purpose-built, dedicated clients; Pegasus Mail for email and 40tude
Dialog for newsgroups.

I was referring more to the many stability/corruption/quirks that have
been noted in this group -- is WLM something that will be patched or
even have features added though microsoft update (i.e. updating from
v1606), or can we expect this to be the final code for quite awhile
(more than a few months)?

Re: version/patch plans?

We have no idea really, since the WLMail team has given us no hints. I suspect we will have to wait for the next build, which I expect to arrive in one or two months time. There could be new features in the next build, or it could just be a refined version of the current product (i.e. no bugs to speak of). We expect Windows Live Calendar integration at some stage, but since WLCalendar is still in beta we may have to wait a while (but it could all happen with the next release if WLCalendar is scheduled to come out of beta at the same time). All pure speculation of course.
