Exporting contacts: Notes

If a list of contacts is exported as a CSV (comma separated values) file, any field containing a comma is quite correctly enclosed
in quotation marks. Otherwise, an address field containing, say, '120, High Street' would find itself divided between two fields and
all the remaining fields in the record would be out of kilter. The same should apply to newline characters as to commas, but it
doesn't. So, if a contact's Notes look something like
'Address over Christmas: Seaview Hotel
123, The Promenade
Hartlepool, NS97 098
Tel: 01234 567890'
then the last three lines of this will appear in the CSV as separate records. It makes no difference whether I use Enter or
Shift-Enter to create the newline character.
Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Exporting contacts: Notes

Yes.
Notes is the last field of that specific Contact's record to be exported
The content <'Address over Christmas: Seaview Hotel> completes that field's
data
<123, Promenade> is seen as the next record.

Note: the above 123 etc is only visible if the csv file is opened from
within Excel(03 or 07); double clicking the csv file as the vehicle to open
Excel strips that line and any other lines from the same note field.

To retain and be capable of opening the csv file by File/Open/*.csv or
double click enter the Notes data as a single line..e.g.
Address over Christmas: Seaview Hotel 123, The Promenade Hartlepool, NS97
098 Tel: 01234 567890
