| Guest | WLM with Office Live emails I'm trying to collect my 2 office live email accounts into WLM. One set up successfully and the other one does not! Used add acct / http for both. The one that does not work, gives me the option to download the 'folders' but when I try, I get this error message: Unable to send or receive messages for the Moeslyseacraft (bowrider) account. To send and receive messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web, or try again later. To get help from Windows Live Customer Support, go to http://support.live.com and click Windows Live Mail in the list of services. Server Error: 500 Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x801941F4 NOTE: Setup of the acct shows server as v1.0.0 on both accts. I tried setting the server on the one that doesn't work to the 'v2.0.0' ... still didn't work. I've tried contacting support and get 'off track' answers. Please help me resolve this! Thank you |

| Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Peter, Using the latest ... 12.0.1606, XP & Office Live Basics. Found another post (somewhere) wth person having the same problem with 2 mail accounts. In theirs & mine, the problem is with the 'owner' email with OLbasics, the 'added' email seems to work. No one posted a solution there. If you could figure this out, I'd really appreciate it! | Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Bowrider, I just tried (for the first time) adding an OLBasics account in WLMail. I first signed in using this address as a Live ID. Having set the account up (manually configured for HTTP), when I selected it in the Folder pane, I got the message about downloading the folders. I ignored it (selected another folder in the Folder pane), then hit Send/Receive > the new account. It downloaded my messages perfectly. (This is the principal OLBasics account.) So, try deleting the account and then following the same sequence of events. It might be worth while waiting a few minutes after signing in and before hitting Send/Receive to allow the synchronization of contacts, black/whitelists etc to complete. Incidentally, it may save some hassle if you ensure that, in the profile for the Live ID associated with your OLBasics account, you have filled in at least a birth date and a Country/Region so that you are not trapped by Hotmail's age restrictions. -- Noel "Bowrider" <Bowrider@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:4E606D82-C781-49A5-A054-E0278622CE0A@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Ildhund: I followed your instructions ... precisely ... but still not working. In the 'every 30 min auto p/u of mail' it doesn't error out as before, and yes, it's checked to p/u from the email. But if I try to p/u mail from that acct specifically, then it's still giving error. Still have no messages & no folders. Any other ideas to try? (My profile was fine too) Thanks. "Ildhund" wrote:

| Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Too bad it didn't work. This is as it says a server error, but there is probably something at your end that's triggering it. Have you enabled logging (at Options > Advanced > Maintenance, Troubleshooting)? Anything in WindowsLiveMail.log in the root of your Store folder (see where it is by clicking the Store folder button on the Maintenance page)? Do you know how to use Fiddler? You may need to use it to provide evidence to MSFT. And - an afterthought - do you have Outlook installed? -- Noel "Bowrider" <Bowrider@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:4DB02855-F1F6-41F9-A49C-89943BF4A4E0@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Noel, I really appreciate your trying to help me. I did look at options/advanced/ etc, but all that pertains to both accts, right? I'm tryng to find somethng that is unique to one & not the other to explain why one works & the other doesn't. What's interesting since I did your prev suggestion... if I do send/receive, I get the error msg...but 20 min later when WLM auto does it, I don't get my mail from the 'problem' acct, but I don't get the error msg either ... and the box is checked to include this acct. Does that give you any clues as to the problem? You are right, I probably goofed something up on the initial setup of my website & email address. When I added the 2nd email & user id (a month later) to Office Live website, I remember getting a notice of Windows Live Mail ... don't remember seeing that before with the first email (problem child). I do have Outlook, but 2000, so can't use "connector"... and was informed using Outlook would not be able to reply to msg .. or something like that. I'm not familiar with Fiddler. Again, thanks for your efforts. Carla "Ildhund" wrote:

| Guest | Re: WLM with Office Live emails Carla, you are in a unique position to get closer to the root of this problem precisely because you have one account that works and one that doesn't. If you enable logging by ticking all the boxes at the bottom of the maintenance page, WLMail will record a lot of detail about the traffic between your computer and the server. By comparing the data for the good account with those for the bad one, it might be possible to pinpoint the error. For example, you will at least be able to see whether it's the same server for both accounts. If you really want to solve the problem, you'll have to work at it yourself - unless there are a lot of users with the same problem, it won't get very far up the Microsoft "to do" list. Try this (it shouldn't take more than five or ten minutes): On the Options > General page, Deselect the "Send and receive messages at startup" and "Check for new messages every n minutes" boxes, Close down WLMail. Use Explorer to navigate to your Store folder and find WindowsLiveMail.log (If you sort by Date modified, it'll probably be at the top of the list). Rename it to WindowsLiveMail.1st. If it's not there, don't worry. Start WLMail Using the little arrow beside the Send/Receive button, select the good account and wait until the synchronization is finished - probably only a couple of seconds Then do the same with the bad account. From what you say, you should now get the "Unable to..." error message. Close the error message. Close down WLMail Go back to your Store folder. You should have a nice new WindowsLiveMail.log. Rename it WindowsLiveMail.2nd. Open it with Notepad, Ctrl-A to mark everything, Ctrl-C to copy all the text. Close it again. Then come back here and start a reply to this post. Hit Ctrl-V to paste the log file into your reply and we'll have a look at it.
