Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

Hello,

I am having great trouble trying to syncronize the Windows Live Mail desktop
application with my MSN email account. At first it worked well, but once I
started moving my email from my inbox to a folder that is also hosted at MSN,
I then received the syncronization errors. Sometimes the errors goes away on
its own, but only after a few days - sometimes not at all though. I can
however get it to work if I reinstall the application or remove and re-add my
MSN account. But once I start moving email from my inbox to a folder, I
receive the same issue. Here is the error message, any ideas?

Server Error: 5102
Server Response: timedout to ip 10.1.246.48:2000
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

RE: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

After reading some posts, I want to get the obvious out of the way before I'm
told to check these items...

-- I have the latest version of Windows Live Mail.
-- My time is set correctly.
-- The server is not down.
-- This happens consistently.
-- I can log into mail.live.com with the same account

Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

This was a problem for some in the beta stages. I thought it had been fixed, but clearly not for everybody...
How were your user folders created? It seemed that the sync process sometimes had difficulty reproducing on the server folders
created in the client. So, one thing to try is to access your account on the web, move the messages from the user-created folder
there back to the inbox and delete the folder. You might save yourself some work later if you close down WLMail meanwhile so the
moved messages don't all get downloaded again. Then create a new folder on the web with a different name and move your messages into
it. Restart WLMail and wait for a full sync to take place - which might take some time.

Try reseting IE setting.

I'm having this same problem. When I look at the properties for my account,
it's listed as using that server. But in the error message it points to the
V2 one.

I have another hotmail account and it is working just fine.

I have another system that is runing Outlook Express and it's successfully
accessing the hotmail account that WLM is having troubles with.

Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

Larry: I think you'll find it makes no difference whether the "server" name
is given as v1.0.0 or v2.0.0. Your request is forwarded to a physical server
corresponding to your username (email address). Live Hotmail servers have
names like bay136.xxx.com, and I'd be willing to bet that the posters in
this thread experiencing server errors are all having trouble with the same
server or two where some maintenance is being done. It'll probably come
right in a few hours - perhaps a day or two. It would be interesting to see
whether it is only one or two servers that are down: if they all did as
advised and accessed their mail on the web, then posted back here with the
URL of their Hotmail inbox (seen in the browser address bar), we'd have a
good idea of the extent of the problem. I have accounts hosted on bay105,
107, 124, 130, 136 and 140 and they're all behaving themselves.

Re: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

That makes sense except for the fact that Outlook Express (on another
system) is able to access the same account that WLM is having trouble with.

My account that is having problems is on bay133.

I just checked my other accounts (the ones that are working). One of them is
on the same server as the one that is not working - bay133.
