Offline WLMail installer?

Is there any stand-alone Windows Live Mail installer that doesn't require
the Internet access to work? We pay for traffic, and it's a pain to install
WLMail on multiple computers by downloading it from the Internet to each
one. There seems to be a WSUS update for WLMail, but when I approved it it
tried to downolad over 300 MB, so I cancelled it.

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

That 300+MB download actually contains every language version of WLMail.
If you have already used the Windows Live installer to install any Windows Live programs, the .msi installation files will now be on that computer at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources where WLMail English version 12.0.1606 is named "Install_{184E7118-0295-43C4-B72C-1D54AA75AAF7}.msi"

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

WLM puts the msi install file in C:\Program Files\Common
Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources for XP.
After installing on one computer, use the msi file to install to other
computers.

I wonder why so, the only languages I selected in WSUS to download are
Russian and English...

Thank you, that's exactly what I need!

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

The WindowsLiveInstaller folder is hidden..
Use Windows Explorer\Tools\Folder Options\View and uncheck 'Hide Protected
Operating System Files'.

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

Good point Winston. "Show hidden files and folders" also needs to be checked.

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

One can bypass the hidden folder settings though, by pasting/typing the path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources into the address bar of Windows Explorer and hitting Enter or clicking on the arrow.

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

I just use Total Commander with "Show hidden files" option enabled. Thanks
for extensive info anyway!

Re: Offline WLMail installer?

Are you saying that only the folder is hidden and that the msi files are not
hidden?
Pasting the folder path will not show hidden files.
