| | Multiple copies of emails Sometimes when sending an email to friends they receive three or four copies of it. I am only sending it once. This doesn't happen all of the time and it isn't always to the same person. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks Sharyn Mitchell |

| | Re: Multiple copies of emails Sorry Sharyn, I've not experienced this problem and haven't run across anybody else in this newsgroup who has reported anything similar. When you look in your sent items folder, do you have multiple copies of the email sitting there or just the one? I am only sending it once. Is size a factor? Do you have the "break apart" option set for that server (in Advanced tab)? Then get a clearer description of your friend's symptom. It could be that they are receiving a large E-mail in pieces and just aren't aware of the the Recombine Attachments... command (if in WLM; Combine and Decode command, if in OE). BTW some servers do the combining automatically which may be why not all receivers might report the problem symptom from receiving the same message. | | Re: Multiple copies of emails Size isn't a factor at all. This doesn't happen with every email I send but it does happen to enough that people are beginning to think I am losing my mind. Sometimes the recipient will get an email several times and yet the next time I send one it doesn't happen. Thanks for your reply. | | Re: Multiple copies of emails I haven't used AVG so don't know of the interactions between that and any programs. If you have the email scanning turned off then that should suffice but I'd try turning off the Firewall completely (just for the duration of composing and sending an email) then turn it back on again afterwards and see if this has effect on WLM. After reading the other comments in this thread, I'm beginning to think that it's maybe something to do with your particular installation rather than anything else however. Do you have another machine you can try this on and see if you get the same results on that machine?
