| Guest | Re: Gmail & WLM 1606 - duplicate mail in 2 inboxes? Not quite sure what you mean by "server account inbox". Are you referring to a POP3 account provided by your ISP? Do you have forwarding set up anywhere, e.g. to send a copy of any mail received in a POP3 account to your Gmail account or vice versa? Do you have message rules set up which might be doing this? Or are you looking at Quick views > All inbox? Quick views is just what it says - a quick way of reviewing, say, any unread mail regardless of which account it arrived by, or all mail in all inboxes. Quick views doesn't involve extra copies of the messages you see there - just another way of viewing them. Incidentally, although the video is a good intro to setting up WLMail, there are a couple of misleading statements in there: (1) "Manually configure server settings..." when adding a mail account. The mail team have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that subscribers to the commonest mail services in any market won't have to configure accounts manually. So, if you have a an account like @aol.com or @btinternet.co.uk, the settings are preconfigured. (2) Contrary to what Rich says, you don't have to have a Live ID to be able to use the WLMail client. Help describes the advantages of signing in, but it's not a requirement. -- Noel "Wayne L" <enyawnospamnodnol@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:96AC1BDE-334C-4CFF-BF07-9307653B3B34@xxxxxx Quote: > Why do I get duplicate mail in my Gmail and server account inboxes? > > I used this YT clip for setup - > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GPmP...www.pcmech.com > > Thanks, Wayne > -- > Wayne L |

| Guest | Re: Gmail & WLM 1606 - duplicate mail in 2 inboxes? I, too, get duplicate mail in the Sent mail box when I use IMap. There are none of the settings described below in place. I suspect that it is just a WLM problem, because Thunderbird handles everything correctly and I get only one message in my Sent mail box. And Windows Live Mail works properly in several IMAP accounts that I have. Perhaps something about the way the IMAP folders are configured on that tab in account properties. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

The problem was that I did have the "forward" box checked in Gmail settings. Thanks,Wayne -- Wayne L "N.
