Vista Tutorial - Messages/Folders do not download

Hello!

I have a version of live mail on my desktop (xp) working fine, however when
I install onto my laptop (vista home premium) I cannot download any mesages
or folders. I receive no error mesages. I have tries reinstalling etc. Any
help?

First make sure that the Vista Firewall isn't blocking the connection.
If the firewall is ok, then make sure it's not your AV program. Try turning
that off and see if it helps.

desktop program. Is there anything else that can be done, or do I have to

I'm assuming that everything else is working on your laptop and it's just
WLM that's the problem, e.g. you can browse normally etc?
What type of account are you trying to connect to, IMAP, POP3 etc.?
If it's not HTML then try to connect to that first. If you can browse the
web then you should be able to send/receive HTTP mail.

Yes I can browse normally, that has no problems.

I am trying to access my hotmail account using HTTP...

It is very odd that I can use the program to acess the same account on my XP
computer but not on my vista laptop...

If you have any ideas, I am welcome to try them!
