Active X error message

In my Windows Live Mail whenever I compose or open a received message I get a
message screen first that says my security settings prohibit running active x
controls so the page might not display corretly. I used the directions in
Help to check the active x pane and it didnt help. What to do now? The pop up
is very annoying.

Re: Active X error message

I don't think you would get that on a new mail but, if you are running IE -
7, you can go to IE Tools - Internet Options, Security Tab, my security is
Medium-high [default]. Use the Custom button and under ActiveX controls and
plug-ins 'Disable' Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls while 'Enabling'
a select few of the choices there: Binary and script behaviors; Run
ActiveX controls and plug-ins; Script ActiveX controls marked safe for
scripting*. You should leave marked Prompt the Download signed ActiveX
controls. This is all assuming you are Firewalled and have some virus
protection. There are numerous choices there most of which should not be
changed unless you are sure. Software channel permissions can be Medium
safety [recommended], Active scripting is ok as is Scripting of Java
applets. Good luck and let us know how it's going.
