| Guest | Re: windows mail program Hi, Cathezi. In spite of the very similar names, Windows Mail is a different program from Windows Live Mail, which this newsgroup supports. The NG you want is microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail. Many of us prefer WLM to WM. Go here to download WLM: Windows Live Mail http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview RC -- R. C. | Guest | Re: windows mail program In addition to the other comments...If you wish to use Vista's included Windows Mail application for a hotmail account..all the following are required. a. The hotmail account must be a Hotmail Plus account($20/yr) b. The Plus account can not be a partnered account(Qwest, Verizon, etc) c. The Plus account must use the pop3/smtp server and settings d. The Plus account must be setup manually for item [c]. If item [a] is not true, then Windows Live Mail must be used. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "cathezi" <cathezi@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:134A3A90-B0EC-4A3F-AA0A-5DF840953D95@xxxxxx

Hotmail Plus account (in my case an MSN account) could be configured to use POP3 servers, and thus used within the default Windows Mail program. Could you please point me to where I could find some more details about this, including how to set it all up? Thanks in advance... and a Happy New Year to All. | ||||||||||||
