No background music with stationery

I'm posting a thread from WM with hopes that someone here will be able to
help me resolve this problem. With this thread hopefully it will save a lot
of unnecessary posts of the same information. I am using WLM but didn't know
there were 2 mail programs when I first sought help. My original question is
at the bottom of this. Here goes:

Unfortunately I am not a stationery expert, and I have never
used stationery or embedded sound myself.
Another responder who is more familiar with this topic may
offer his services, or you can post this question in the WLM

Re: No background music with stationery

I've found that for using custom stationery, Windows Mail is much better
than Windows Live Mail. Windows Mail (the one that comes with Vista) allows
you to add the Source Edit and Preview tabs at the bottom of your e-mails so
you can immediately make any changes, if necessary. I've used Windows Mail
and the embedded background sound does play, so I really don't know what the
problem could be. I'm assuming that it did work fine in Outlook Express,
but now doesn't work in either Windows Mail, or in Windows Live Mail.

Oh, and the Security you are looking for is under Tools/Safety Options. I
have mine set to LOW. Also, have you tried just adding a sound to a plain
e-mail? Just click on Format/Background/Sound and browse to a sound and
click on OK. Once you do that, the sound should play.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Re: No background music with stationery

Unfortunately, here is a link to discussions about a bug in WLM that will not set up background sound physically in the e-mail:
news:03D86CD0-4B6A-4883-95D8-105138ADA232@xxxxxx
Re: Still no background sound
It only works if you attach the music file to the e-mail, I think, because only the file name is imbedded in the mail. So until the fix is in, you're better off with Windows Mail. However, watch for Updates of WLM causing switching your links to your Windows Mail to go to WLM.

Re: No background music with stationery

Just one more thing, I hope. If I start using WM how will that affect the
files I have in WLM? Will I lose all of my messages? I don't want to do that.
I'll just wait until I get an answer to this before I even open WM.
Y'all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. I'll check back later in the week to see
what you've suggested. Thanks so much.
