| Guest | Black Screen in Live Mail Final I'm interface issues with Live Mail. 1. When I minimize it and restore it the entire contents of the window frame are black and I have to close WLM and restart it. 2. When most dialog boxes are supposed to pop up, I get a window frame with no contents and a transparent center. I can drag the window and what's underneath will show through. Again, I have to restart WLM. I've tried repairing it and even uninstalling and reinstalling it. Sometimes it works fine for a few minutes but then reverts to the screwy behavior. When I try to switch between Mail and News, it hangs up. I have Vista Ultimate 64 with 8GB RAM. Outlook 2007 and Windows Mail work fine so I'm pretty sure the problem is WLM. I tried getting to Microsoft's Knowledge Base but IE can't find the page. "The Requested Web Page is Not Available." Can anyone help? TIA Tom Lake |

| Guest | Re: Black Screen in Live Mail Final I've no idea whether this will help, but some people with UI problems in the early betas found that it helped: Close down WLMail Start > Run > regedit Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail In the right hand pane, look for a value called Tree. If it exists, double click on it and set it to 1 If it doesn't exist , select Edit > New > DWORD value Rename it Tree Double click on it and set its data to 1 Close regedit Restart WLMail and see if this has helped Come back here and tell us. it looked good. The blank dialog boxes came back, though, and then I got an out of memory message. Could it be a memory leak? A conflict with the video driver? Again, thanks for the good try and Merry Christmas to you and yours! Tom Lake | ||||||||||||

my wife's account for a while. It ran perfectly. That told me that there was a problem with my account info. I deleted WLM and all my account info and registry info and reinstalled it. It now seems to be running OK again. Thanks to all who offered suggestions! Tom Lake | ||||||||||||
