Ché, qué me decÃÂ*s...

I receive e-mail in three languages: English, Spanish and German.
My keyboard layout is German, Vista is installed in English, I use the local
(Costa Rica) preferences (time / currency, etc.).

When composing mail in Windows Live the spell checker(s) work(s) perfectly,
but the special characters in either Spanish ("Ché, qué me decÃ*s) or German
(öäüß) come out garbled.

I haven't changed the setting in the character encoding options.

Any suggestions?
