| | Junk marked as read when I hit the Not junk mail button When I scan my junk folder, there are sometimes messages that I'm not sure about. These I delete, whereupon they get moved to the Deleted items folder. The Junk-email unread message count goes down and the Deleted items unread count goes up. I can then locate them quickly in that folder and deal with as appropriate. If I recognize a message in the junk folder as not junk and hit the Not junk mail button, it moves to its proper folder, but it is simultaneously marked as read. This means I can't see at a glance where it landed. Can anyone confirm that this happens? If the Not junk mail action always marks the message as read, it's a bug. If it doesn't always do it, what is the criterion for doing it? -- Noel |

This means I can't see at a glance where it landed. Usually the not-junk message goes into the Inbox for that Account. But since it's marked Read, it's not easy to find there - and it does not show up in Quick views | Unread e-mail. And if one or more mail rules apply, who knows where it might go. :>( RC -- R. C. | | Re: Junk marked as read when I hit the Not junk mail button Noel, Ditto...same here.. Having returned from vacation and not having accessed email for any length of time I had plenty of junk mail messages to duplicate the same issue. Feedback also sent. Fyi - If I hit the not Junk mail option(or use the context menu), it always goes to that same account's inbox. - in my feedback I also noted that dragging another unread message from the Junk-email folder to the another folder in the same or different account retains its unread status. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "Ildhund" <jnllb@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:eqL5ynbWIHA.1164@xxxxxx If I recognize a message in the junk folder as not junk and hit the Not junk mail button, it moves to its proper folder, but it is simultaneously marked as read. | | Re: Junk marked as read when I hit the Not junk mail button My goodness, that must have been quite a shock. Of course it's -3º now here in Chicago, without the wind chill. But the sun is shining and from the inside out, it looks like a nice day.
