Ni pictures visible in the received emails

Hi,

I've just installed LMD and instead of pictures, I only have empty boxes
with a little red cross.
Where's the option to display the photos ?

Also, a lot of newsletters I've subscribed to are considered as spam by LMD.
How can I un-spam the sender so those messages arrive in my inbox ?

Thanks,
RVG

Right-click on a message in the message list and select Junk e-mail > Add
sender to safe senders list.

Done, thank you.

Now, I'd like to know how to refresh messages in a newsgroup. So far, the
solution I've found is to select another NG and then come back to the one
I'm consulting - not the most convenient solution, huh ?

Re: Ni pictures visible in the received emails

Hi, rv.gronoff.

First: What's LMD? I assume you mean Live Mail Desktop, but the "desktop"
part of the name was retired last May, during the beta. The official name
of the final release (build 12.0.1606, which you are using) is "Windows Live
Mail", which we usually abbreviate WLM. (Or WLMail to distinguish it from
WLMessenger. Microsoft's naming gurus are at it again. :-{ They haven't
even managed yet to delete the word "desktop" from the name of this
newsgroup.)

To refresh a newsgroup, I usually click Tools | Synchronize All. As the
name suggests, this syncs them all, not just the one I'm reading, so it can
take a few minutes. I've added a Synchronize All button to my Toolbar, but
I usually forget to use it, since it appears only in News and not in Mail.

This checks the mailboxes but doesn't refresh the NGs.

Re: Ni pictures visible in the received emails

Right-click on a newsgroup, select Synchronization settings - New messages
only
Do it for each group.
Then when You click on Synchronize All, the groups will be included.

But R. C. where else would someone ask a question about the
Windows Live Desktop Search bar? <eg>

It's something that Noel suggested I try to install to see if performance
of WLMail Ctrl-e Finds would improve. So far it hasn't but I'm still not
sure I have it tuned correctly.

I guess it's more properly called WDS. E.g. Win-F now initially opens
Windows Desktop Search and I have a new Toolbar in my Taskbar
called Windows Search Deskbar (WSD? <eg>)

I had a heck of time installing it, finding broken installs of one source or another.
Here's the link that I finally downloaded it from:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...vetoolbar.mspx

I couldn't see and install this until I actually logged into Windows Live
(which created new problem symptoms of its own).
Maybe that's why I think of it as Windows *Live* Desktop Search bar? <eg>

Re: Ni pictures visible in the received emails

Hi, Robert.

Oh. OK. Thanks for the tip on <Win>+F. I didn't know about that one. It
still doesn't find text in .pub files, even when converted to .pdf (and even
when Indexing Options are tweaked for those), but it looks like it will be
very useful.
