Mobile Text Message

Could someone enlighten me on the usage of "Mobile Text Message" on the top
left hand corner of WLMD?
I assumed that this function is for you to send text messages to a mobile
number of your contact.
I had entered my contact's mobile telephone number in the Contacts but each
time I entered the name of my contact the result is "No contacts match your
search".

Sign in to Messenger with your Windows Live ID.
Start Windows Live Mail.

Sign in to Windows Live Mail with your Windows Live ID.
On the Tools menu, click Contacts.

If you can't see the menu bar, on the toolbar, click the Show menu button ,
and then click Show all menus.

In the contact list, right-click a contact whose status is marked as online
, and then do one of the following:
To start a video conversation, point to Video, and then click Start a Video
Conversation.
To make a call with Windows Live Call, point to Call, and then select a
calling option.
To send a message to a mobile device, click Send a message to a mobile
device.
