| Guest | Pasting Inline image without using Photo Email I used to be able to just paste a copied jpg onto the new email inline. Now with the Photo Email added, whenever I tried to paste the jpg image, it automatically starts up in photo email. As much as I like photo email, sometimes I just want to embed a few photos in my email without them stored somewhere on a server that will go away in 30 days. The Insert/Inline Image menu will do it, but I would have to save the images first on disk. If you do a lot copy-and-paste of the images from other web pages, it becomes very messy and time consuming. How do I avoid using photo email when I do a paste operation? Martin |

| Guest | Re: Pasting Inline image without using Photo Email Here's a work around Open WLM create new email(enure format is Rich Text/Html and not Plain Text) Copy the picture from the web page Paste into IrfanView(available at www.irfanview.com) In IrfanView Click Edit/Copy to place it on the clipboard In the message body click paste. - it will paste in without the additional available photo email menu options The above was done using this method..If it doesn't work, you could always forget it and rent the above video, now a cult classic. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "Martin N" <MartinN@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B752DB7D-74C0-459D-9F22-230C42F76E35@xxxxxx I used to be able to just paste a copied jpg onto the new email inline. | Guest | Re: Pasting Inline image without using Photo Email If you don't want your image uploaded to an MS server, you can uncheck the option "Upload larger images to the web when sending a photo e-mail" at Tools->Options...->Send [tab]. This option is only available to edit when you are signed into WLMail with your Windows Live ID. However, the image will still be formatted as a photo e-mail 'thumbnail' in your message. However, unchecking this option in the current version of WLMail (1606) causes a bug whereby WLMail fails to shut down properly (very annoying, so I don't recommend it). You can leave this option 'checked' but sign out of WLMail (Tools->Options->Connection [tab]->Stop signing in) before sending your message, and the image won't be uploaded. One workaround is to format your e-mail as 'Plain text' before pasting the image in your message. The image will appear to only be 'attached', but after sending the message (or saving to Drafts), the image will be displayed at the base of the message as shown below. Not ideal I know, so I suggest you provide feedback [Help->Send feedback (web)] to the WLMail team. Maybe a right-click context menu option of 'Paste image...' with 'Paste inline' and 'Paste as photo e-mail' options would be better. -- Cheers, Peter (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 12.0.1606) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare --------------- "Martin N" <MartinN@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B752DB7D-74C0-459D-9F22-230C42F76E35@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Pasting Inline image without using Photo Email Peter, Saving to draft would not allow me to send directly. I need to Open the draft first, but when it is opened, the image becomes an attachment again. I understand now it is a bug and not my failure to exhaust the options. Thanks everyone for the replies.
