Link in Live Mail

When I click on the link in Windows Live Mail, I get an error box stating
that it can't fine the particular url that the link is pointing to. The link
always comes up. Why do I get the error and is there some way to keep it
from coming up?

Re: Link in Live Mail

Which OS? On XP (Vista is probably similar), Control panel > Folder options
Quote:

> File types > highlight URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol. Click Advanced,
highlight Open and click Edit. Is the 'Application used...' pointing to your
favourite browser? Is 'Use DDE' selected? If so, deselect it and OK your way
out. Try opening a link in WLMail again. Let us know if this helps.

Re: Link in Live Mail

Window Vista doesn't have the same set up as XP. It has Folder Options but
not the rest of what you suggested.

Re: Link in Live Mail

In Vista, go to: Control panel->Default Programs->Associate a file type or protocol with a program->highlight ".url". Is the "Current default" your favourite browser?
See also: Control panel->Default Programs->Set your default programs
There's no advanced options though.
