backup programs

The nice thing about programs I used in the past for outlook express was it
backed up everything along with my settings and rules... and there was a
nice free one. Is it easy within WLM to do this or is there a nice program
out there.

I saw one called Static EMail Backup Express

Re: backup programs

Yes, the simple backup application called 'Windows Live Mail Backup' by Static Software (http://www.staticbackup.com/windows-live-mail-backup) seems to restore things to the same OS (or from XP to Vista) without any problem (from my tests). It has an option to backup/restore the relevant registry keys along with the Message Store.

Re: backup programs

I use SyncBack: http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html#freeware

It is free. It is very easy to use. It works with external drives. It is
very flexible in terms of what to back up, what to exclude, backup vs
synchronize etc.. This is not an email backup program, but it is a file
backup program. You can use this to back up your email too, just point it to
the correct folder. I am not certain, but when a backup job runs, you should
close your email. It probably cannot backup any files that are open.
