windows live mail

I have windows live mail 2008 Build 12.0.1606 installed on windows xp and
everytime a few seconds after i close wlm i get a windows live mail
encountered a ploblem and has to close error that tells me to send a
report..this happens 80 percent of the time after i close the windows live
mail application...By the way i have disable error reporting checked on
advanced properties and disabled on services also ...i noticed on the task
manager that the wlmail exe process is still running after i close the
application and that seems to be the problem..Is there any way, fix or some
program that i can get the wlmail.exe process to close at the same time i
close the windows live mail application so i dont get this send error report
message anymore ?

Re: windows live mail

I would be better if you posted only the error boxes instead of the whole
desktop.
Less than a minute in Paint would have saved only the error boxes.

Re: windows live mail

Make sure the option "Upload Larger Images to the Web When Sending a
Photo E-mail" is *checked* at: Tools->Options->Send [tab](available only
when signed into Windows Live through WLMail). There is a bug that
prevents WLMail from closing properly if this option is unchecked. Still
though, you still shouldn't be getting such an error message when closing
WLMail. Hopefully the above fix will stop the error message also.

I have not yet migrated to WLM (still using Windows Mail, but I'm reading
this newsgroup to see if WLM might be the route to go). However, I noticed
your message. I had similar error messages ("not responding") when using
the Internet. I am a new Vista user and finally called Microsoft. The rep
I talked to was very helpful and walked me through a few changes. Most
importantly, she had me go to Control Panel and uninstall anything related
to Yahoo or Google. She said those toolbars often have compatibility issues
(and maybe some other toolbars, but I didn't have any). I had almost
constant "not responding" error messages before making those changes and
have had *none* since following her instructions. You might want to try
this to see if it affects your system. (Again, notice that I am not yet a
WLM user, so this is based on similar problems but not specifically with
WLM.)

Hi,

how busy is your system, i.e. do you run several apps (mail, wp, browser, IM
etc) plus all the overheads of malware scanners and firewalls.

Live made my system sluggish (XP on 1G 6600) and I would become impatient
with it. Then I'd "bash" the keyboard. Then it would misbehave etc.. Since
I put another 2G RAM in its been a whole lot better - RAM's pretty cheap at
the moment. Also put 1G of ram into a friends Vista notebook - she's a lot
happier too.

The amount of memory a program needs is inversely proportional to the time
lapse between it's publication and now.

I do sometimes run several programs simultaneously and have AVG running real
time. I also use MS firewall and a router (running on cable connection).
However, I also have a new computer that should have plenty of resources
(Dell 530 purchased in January 2008, upgraded to 4GB RAM. Intel Core 2 duo
processor, 500GB SATA hard drive). I also bought the full version of Vista
Home Premium instead of OEM and made sure there were no signs of the junk
that comes with OEM (including Norton and/or McAfee).
