| | Update Windows Live calendar Does anyone know when we will be getting any new updates. I've been waiting for months to be able to use the calendar feature with Windows Live and am disappointed that it is not part of the package. I went from MSN thinking Windows Live was better and now wish I had not switched. Figured that Microsoft was going to make a better product not a worse product . Seems to be taking forever to get the calendar. If they don't plan to give us the calendar feature , then just let us know so we can remove this from the Workstation . Me and my family was dependent on the MSN Calendar and now it's no longer available. This is not progress it's greed. DWJ |

| | Re: Update Windows Live calendar Besides being free, who ever intimated that the Calendar would be a part of the next update? We would like to have it in the next update, but if it doesn't happen, it's definitely not because of greed. -- ©LarryEº "N. | | Re: Update Windows Live calendar I think that if and when Windows Live Mail is given a calendar feature, which no one has promised, it will be tightly integrated with Windows Live Calendar, which is still in beta. So you might want to start using Windows live Calendar beta, or just use the Calendar available through Windows Live Hotmail. I suspect Windows Live Calendar won't go 'gold' until Windows Live “Wave 3? is released, which is not due until the end of 2008 (see http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=1126 ). Therefore, I don't expect a calendar feature in WLMail until the release of Windows Live "Wave 3". -- Cheers, Peter (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 12.0.1606) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare --------------- "DWJ" <dean.johnson0@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:F4949640-34B2-4571-8248-CBBD2A2887F6@xxxxxx Quote: > Does anyone know when we will be getting any new updates. | | RE: Update Windows Live calendar I fully agree DWJ. It would be nice to have a Calendar in the Windows Live Mail desktop application. Apparently ist only in the online format. However my issue has to do with getting rid of the ads - and it seems this can be done by connecting to http://calendar.msn.com/<your@xxxxxx>. Windows Live Mail (online version) just seems to be a wrapper around the MSN calendar to include the ads. All my appointments are there so I'm kind of happy for now. BTW, Windows Live is not "free" - it comes with ADVERTISEMENTS and Micro$oft rake in big bucks from them. Therefore it is greed on MS's part. Gates was so greedy in the 80's/90's that now he has more money than he can sesnsibly give away. The questions that have to be asked are 1. WHY DID MICRO$OFT STILL FAIL TO INVEST BACK THE MONEY IT TOOK FROM THE IT COMMUNITY WHEN GATES BECAME THE RICHEST PERSON ON THE PLANET? 2. WHY DOES MICRO$OFT ONTINUE TO OFFER SOFTWARE FPOR SALE THAT IS POORLY TESTED, BARELY OPERATIONAL, AND WITH KNOWN SERIOUS DEFECTS ? 3. DOES MICRO$OFT HAVE ANY CON$CIENCE ABOUT THE APPALLING QUALITY OF THE SOFTWARE IT SELLS TO THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY ? "DWJ" wrote: Quote: > Does anyone know when we will be getting any new updates. | | Re: Update Windows Live calendar You're painting with some rather broad brush strokes. Windows Live Mail does not have ads. I can't comment on the other Live apps because I don't use them. If Microsoft software is as bad as you say it is, the marketplace would soon correct that situation. People would stop buying Microsoft's stuff and start buying competitor's products. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Bunyip" <bunyip@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1BC24F68-B8A4-442A-8900-C58AD32476D1@xxxxxx Quote: >I fully agree DWJ. Last I checked, this newsgroup was dedicated to Windows Live Mail, not any of the other Windows Live applications, or services. I do not know of a "free" web mail service which does not have ads. Even ISP web mail services have ads; and ISP subscribers are paying for Internet access. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
