Re: importing favorites from xp to vista

If I may ask, what was the name of the file ? Normally it is bookmark.htm

If the Favorites folder on XP is not too large to fit on a jump drive or
floppy..
Copy the folders(via Windows Explorer) in your XP user profile Favorites to
that media, then copy the folders to your user profile in Vista
---> C:\Users\<your Vista Logon Id>\Favorites

Re: importing favorites from xp to vista

Hi, tedstropicals.

Is it a "permissions" problem? Can you even SEE the WinXP Bookmarks file
from Vista?

You might need to take ownership of the file, or otherwise give yourself
permission to see it - and copy it into WLM.

Re: importing favorites from xp to vista

I got it figured out, instead of importing to favorites, I tried importing
it to toshiba, and guess what, it worked. I guess favorites doesnt exist in
vista.

Re: importing favorites from xp to vista

Hi, tedstropicals.

Well, MY Favorites are in C:\Users\RC\Favorites. YOURS might be in
C:\Users\RC\Favorites. Vista probably has NO folder named C:\Favorites. To
find YOUR Favorites folder, just click Start (or press the Windows logo
key), then right-click on Favorites and then click Explore. YOUR Favorites
folder should open in Windows Explorer. Then you can read the pathname in
the Address box - or in the Taskbar.

If you don't see Favorites on the right side of your Start menu, then
right-click the Start orb, then click Properties. On the Start Menu tab,
click Start Menu \ Customize and check the box for Favorites menu.

Vista's user folders are organized differently from WinXP's.
